In some cases it is helpful to normalize student game scores. In our Playlist Performance and Gradebook downloads, you can find student Borda points for all games played in a playlist.
The borda points will rank students from lowest to highest based on their scores in the game and each student earns his or her rank. Students that are tied get the "highest" rank.
An Example:
If students in a game earn the points 22, 26, 22 and 20 - these students will get 3, 4, 3 and 1 borda points. The higher the earnings in a game, the more borda points a student will accrue.
We do not distinguish between points earned in complete and incomplete games. A student earns 0 points if she did not participate.
Borda points on the Playlist Performance download are the summation of borda points earned across all games in the playlist.
