The MobLab Day Pass is ideal if you are planning to use our platform for just one day. Participants simply join by scanning a QR code without the need to create a user account.
How to Get Started
Below are six steps that help you to use the MobLab Day Pass
- Creating a Day Pass Class
- Selecting a MobLab Game
- Game Configurations
- Running a Game
- Debriefing
- Pricing
1. Creating a Day Pass Class
Login to your MobLab instructor account and create a new class. Give it a descriptive name and select the "MobLab Day Pass" pricing plan.
2. Selecting a MobLab Game
Pick a game of your choice from the library and add it to your class. You may use the Demo button to preview the game or read the instructor Guide before adding the game. Currently, only a subset of our library is available for the Day Pass license. Please contact us if you cannot find your preferred game.
3. Game Configurations
All games come with pre-configured settings and parameters selected by our team of economists. However, it is also our goal to give you as much liberty to customize these settings and parameters according to your specific teaching objectives. Please view this article to learn more about MobLab's configuration options.
4. Running a Game
When you're ready to run an activity, click Open Activity. This will prompt a new window with a QR code to appear.
Ask your participants to scan the QR code with their mobile devices. Students will be prompted to enter a nickname. In the top left corner, you will see a count of the active users who are ready to play. When you are ready, click Begin!
Pro tip: You do not have to wait for all participants to join before you begin the game. You can display the student code after you started the game, thereby allowing participants to join late.
Once the game is started, your screen will switch to the Monitor panel (see below), where you can follow the game's progress and add robotic players to the last unfilled group. Here you can also see how much time is left in the game, which groups have finished, who is in which group, and the details of each group.
5. Activity Debrief
Once a game has finished, you can review the game results.
Clicking Results will open a separate window displaying game-specific graphs and breakdown tables. Review the game results with your students to show them trends from the class and how their behavior compares to theoretical predictions.
Once a game has been played, you may copy or replay the game.
